In today’s episode, We are joined by Jenn Drummond. Jenn is a World Record Holder, Motivational Keynote Speaker, Author, Podcast Host, and a mother of 7.
Jenn starts by sharing the turning point in her life when her perspective on life changed after a near-fatal car crash and the subsequent death of a friend. After creating a bucket list that included climbing some mountains, she was challenged to climb Mountain Everest, which started her journey to being the first American woman to summit Mount Tyree in Antarctica and a Guinness World Record.
The conversation dives into the concept of comfort zones, and how limiting they can be especially after the lockdown. Jenn stresses how pushing mental and physical limits will ensure personal growth and avoid stagnation.
Jenn and Jarek also discuss the effects of positive and negative self-talk, childhood experiences, and how it affected their parental styles. They highlight the importance of healing the inner child, addressing traumas and unmet emotional needs, and confronting such issues.
Finally, Jenn shares her method of dealing with the different voices and aspects of her personality in order to always be aware of whether she needs to listen to the cheerleader part of herself or the critic. She finishes by sharing her future aspirations and current focus.
